Viticulture
As described above the barbera grape can be grown in a variety of soils and in a variety of climates. The barbera grape plant has an excessive rate of growing as compared to other wines, it is because of this property that wine producers can grow two varieties of wine on the same land. One wine variety is grown before barbera grapes are planted as the barbera plant ripens quickly. However sometimes it’s excessive rate of growth is also a major concern for wine producers. Usually the grape is harvested by the start of winter, however it has been found that the more delay there is in the grape harvest more is the amount of sugar present in the wine.
